My Top 5 Firefox Plugins/Addons   no comments

Firefox is my browser of choice at the moment and has been for the last 4 years…

One of my favorite reasons why, besides the fact that it is fast is it has easy to use/install plugins! According to Mozilla there are over 5,000 unique add-ons to customize your browsing experience.  Best of all, everything is free!
Here are my Top 5 Firefox Add-ons/Plugins:

Adblock Plus : Blocks adverts both graphical and text from websites, this can make webpage’s load faster as well since there is less to load.  You can even right click on something that isn’t blocked and add it to your filtered list.

Xmarks :  It will backup your bookmarks, allow you to sync them and your passwords if you want across multiple computers (think of having your favorites with you wherever you are in the world at any computer!)

Forecastfox: Forecastfox can provide you with multiple day weather/real time weather and imagery straight from the bottom of your browser. All forecasts are provided from Accuweather.com It will also pop-up alerts when the weather service has issued warnings in your area. Very cool!

Quick Translation:  Has your web browsing led you to go abroad? Fear not; simply select any word with your mouse and a translation box will pop-up.

Web Of Trust: If you are about to enter a risky website, WOT will warn you and save your computer before you interact with a harmful site. With safety ratings of 21 million websites, WOT combines evidence collected from multiple trusted sources, like phishing and spam blacklists, with the ratings provided by WOT users. The system uses sophisticated algorithms to produce reliable and up-to-date ratings. This is a new one to me, but definitely seems useful if you have others using your computer.
